Basically, the "Central Dogma of Biology" is DNA --> RNA --> Protein. The "blueprints" (mRNA) would have to be in "the factory" (ribosomes) before the "building materials" (tRNA, which has amino acids) can be used to "build something" (polypeptide chains). For a polypeptide chain to be functional a functional protein it has to twist/fold into a specific structure. Sorry, i thought it would be easy to understand the "blueprint/building" metaphor, even though it sounds childish. Does that help?
