You a scientist and you want to insert a known gene from a spider into a known specific area in the yeast genome? what do you to do this? what kind of enzymes do you need?

OpenStudy (neuromaster):

You would need specific restriction enzymes called 'restriction endonucleases' to cleave or break the DNA at specific points on both the DNAs. This would leave the DNA cut ends either 'sticky' or 'blunt' and you can reanneal or attach them using ligases (sticking enzymes) to create a recombinant DNA molecule. You could indirect this DNA molecule/ plasmid into a yeast cell and multiply it, creating clones.
