Can someone please help me with the problem below. Please I will fan and medal

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

im having trouble finding the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The very important one is that when x=0, y=3.

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then, just use (2,-7). -7=(slope)(2)+3 Subtract 3 from both sides -10=(slope)(2) Divide each side by 2 slope=-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the function is f(x)=-5x+3

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

Oh I see thank you so much

OpenStudy (photon336):

Here's our function \[y = m(x)+b \] where m = slope b = y intercept. b is important because that's where x = 0. so you know that when x = 0, y must be 3 so far you would get y = m(x)+3 now for the slope m we can take any two points on the graph and subtract the y values and x values. \[m = \frac{ y_{2}-y_{1} }{ x_{2}-x_{1}}\]

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

thank you
