How many solutions are there to the following system of equations? 3x – 9y = 0 –x + 3y = –3 0 2 1 infinitely many
I got an x and y so I think 1 C
^ I don't know what you mean by that. But try using substitution like the last question to solve it.
what I mean is I got 3/2 for x and 1/2 for y
Show your work. You can use elimination too, if you know how to do that.
okay
another method: graph the two equations and see where they intersect use a graphing calculator or desmos if you don't have a TI83, 84, etc https://www.desmos.com/calculator
1.5, 0.5
You're gonna have to show some work since I have no idea how you're getting these results
You didn't graph them correctly.
Just use elimination. Multiply the second equation by 3 (multiply each term by 3), then add the equations together
Thanks for all your help, everyone. Have great night
@freemap the lines shouldn't cross or intersect
notice how the lines are parallel https://www.desmos.com/calculator/4umfmm9fmg
^exactly. Hopefully you know what that means, @freemap. If lines are parallel, with no intersection, how many solutions are there?
Thanks @jim_thompson5910 I got the answer I meant to tell you thank you
0 I know its right
