Help with a Question? (Question Inside) M E D A L & F A N

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Show steps please :)

rishavraj (rishavraj):

rationalise it :))

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you know what mean conjugate of ... ? of denominator in this case

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so you need multiplie top and bottom by conjugate of denominator and will get the right answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok can you take me though it @jhonyy9

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

the denominator is sqrt2 -sqrt5 do you know formula of difference of perfect squares = ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

than you know it this will help you sure easy to get the necessary conjugate of sqrt2 -sqrt5

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

this is formula about i have told you above a^2 -b^2 =(a-b)(a+b) can using here now ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

(a-b) is the denominator so how can you using this in your exercise case to simplifie it ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

you dont understand from these nothing plaese ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

sqrt2 -sqrt5 is the denomiator - yes ? from this formula of diference of perfect squares result that than you multiplie (sqrt2 -sqrt5 by (conjugate what will be (sqrt2 +sqrt5) so will get in denominator 2-5 because (sqrt2)^2 = 2 and (squart5)^2 =5 yes ? but dont forgot it that you need multiplie the numerator too by conjugate and see what will result - ok. ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you have got it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you @jhonyy9 !! :)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

was my pleasure bye
