Two polynomials P and D are given. Use either synthetic or long division to divide P(X) by D(X), and express P in the form P(X) = D(x) * Q(X) +R(X). p(x) = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[P(X) = 2x^5+4x^4 - 4x^3-x-5, D(x) = x^2-2\]

ignore the p(x) = 2, that was a typo. i was trying to write the equation

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

|dw:1456464003576:dw| That is pretty much what you have to perform, note that instead of the polynomials you might want to write them in their general form, which is descending in exponent value.
