OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

a) given

OpenStudy (ohmybookness):

Can you explain :)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

b) shorter leg will be the opposite side so.. hmhmm recall your SOH CAH TOA \(sin(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{hypotenuse} \qquad \qquad % cosine cos(\theta)=\cfrac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} \\ \quad \\ % tangent tan(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{adjacent}\) which of the identities, has ONLY the angle the opposite side and the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (ohmybookness):

oh so i use a^2+b^2=c2 or is 15' the actual answer

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well, if you had the adjacent side, you could use the pythagorean theorem yes but it is given in this case, 15 feet from what I can tell

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well, if you had the adjacent and opposite that is =)

OpenStudy (ohmybookness):

I'm sorry, I don't understand
