3 sqrt 2x+6=18

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

sqrt2x or sqrt(2x+6) how is exactly ?

rishavraj (rishavraj):

is it \[3\sqrt{2x + 16} = 18\] if so then first of all divide by 3 on both sides....

rishavraj (rishavraj):

u mean only its only the sqrt of 2x ??? then u need to eliminate 6 from the variable side...so subtract 6 on both sides of equality sign

OpenStudy (cutiekawdfi):

no its the sqrt of 2x+6 :P

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ok. than divide both sides by 3

rishavraj (rishavraj):

ok then u need to divide by 3 on both sides

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: if I diviby three, I get: \[\Large \frac{{3\sqrt {2x + 6} }}{3} = \frac{{18}}{3}\] please simplify

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

oops.. I meant ...if I divide both sides by three...
