please help and show me how to solve this http://prntscr.com/a9osa0
Hi @Ms-Brains
What is the LCD of 3/5 and 7/10?
Couldn't you do midpoint formula that's what I did and I think I got the right answer
Using the midpoint formula would work, but would still require identification and use of the LCD. So, again, M-B, what is the LCD?
I got no clue... LCD would be what exactly...?
LCD=Lowest Common Denominator. I'm sure you've worked with this concept before. What is the smallest number you can think of into which you could divide both 5 and 10, separately?
Lowest food on denominator
Lol
Common
Or you could change these to decimals but weather way works
M-B: Please think back to past experience. How have you found the LCD before? The LCD of 2/3 and 1/6 is 6. How would one know that?
the LCD of 1/2 and 1/6 is also 6. How?
It is very, very disappointing to find that you (@Ms-Brains) have simply logged off in the midst of efforts to help you with this problem.
I'm having trouble staying on, OS keeps getting more and more laggy. I'm super sorry @mathmale I wouldn't do it on purpose, honest. I got sucky internet too, Okay, I worked it out on a piece of paper, and what I got was D has the correct answer by doing this; Average the numbers: avg = (3/5 + 7/10)/2 avg = (6/10 + 7/10)/2 avg = (13/10)/2 avg = 13/20
Good job at @Ms-Brains :)
:( I still feel bad that MathMale thinks I logged off on purpose. I really appreciate his help! but OS keeps kicking me off.
It's okay @Ms-Brains it's not your fault
Any more questions?
Apology accepted; sorry I didn't think that perhaps it was your Internet connection that was at fault. 13/20 is indeed correct. So glad you were able to arrive at that on your own.
Thank you two for the help! ^u^
