OBSERVATION AND DEDUCTION THE ART OF EVERYTHING ARTICLE (Please Please Check And Give Feedback)

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

How startling is the fact that, just from a preliminary glimpse, you know the passerby was an unemployed American guitarist with a medical background? Or just by observing the position of eyes and vibrating anxiety of the fingers, you can realize your son, colleague or even your spouse is lying? How magnificent is the art to see the invisible and to know the incomprehensible? Most of the time we encounter situations where poorly planned moves result in great losses. Sometimes, unintentionally, we set up ties with proficient charlatans and later figure out that we were taken to the cleaners. To deal within these convoluted circumstances, one should have some perceptual intuition which allows a person to increase the probability of his success. Observation and Deduction are one of the faculties which enhances ones tendency to acknowledge the desired conclusion or in other words, “to see the future”. So how can our “preliminary glimpse” be given such precision that instants after, we are familiar with the background, place of origin, occupation of the participant? The answer lies in the brilliant perspicacity of Observation and Deduction. They are the branches of the same tree but they both bear distinguishable significance. The delineation of both terms was perfectly elucidated by Mr. Sherlock Holmes, the fictional detective who unravelled the roots of this outstanding skill, “Observation shows me that you have been to the Wigmore Street Post-Office this morning, but deduction lets me know that when there you dispatched a telegram.” In layman’s term, observation is conscientious scrutiny and deduction is thorough analysis. Before you close the article, assuming this aptitude to be highly intricate, be assured that neither it is necessary to be a professional detective to practice it nor do you require a special training. Anyone can enhance his or her faculties for observation and practice Holmes-like deductions once he grasps the talent of what and where to look for. 'By a man's finger-nails, by his coat-sleeves, by his boots, by his trouser-knees, by his callosities on his forefinger and thumb, by his expression, by his shirt-cuffs-by each of these things a man's calling is plainly revealed," says Mr. Holmes. Observations and deductions are carried out on daily basis, almost by everyone, and in reality, it is simply a board of chess which has to be played in a certain order. For example, we mostly don’t require a person’s identification card to figure out his or her gender. Similarly, a bathroom with its door locked is mostly considered as occupied. They all are deductions since we are giving meaning to a vague situation .We all have some special family members in our houses who are given the credit of “lie detectors”, and to at some extent, they rarely fail. In reality, at a subconscious level, they have mastered the art of observation and applying a little logical thinking, they discern between the truth and the false. Comprehending the fact that observation and deduction is not a Godly skill, let us have a keen look on the conditions required to amplify the accuracy of the results acquired using this insightful sagacity. Observation borders around knowledge whereas deduction borders around the intellect of logics. One cannot simply postulate the possibility of something unless he has a clear understanding of its workings. For example Mr. Sherlock Holmes says, “From a drop of water a logician could infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagara without having seen or heard of one or the other." But for such to happen, one should have the knowledge of at least one difference which he could use to differentiate one from the other. A grand technique, very beneficial for accurate deductive reasoning, is the art of backward reasoning or as described in the literature “analytical reasoning”. According to Mr. Holmes, the proportion to people who can reason synthetically as compared to analytically is fifty to one. Analytical reasoning is deducing the steps required to achieve a desired effect. Since one is able to anticipate the steps, he can seek much more evidence to support his hypothetical description about the object. This reasoning requires a little dexterity for excellent results, but is highly advantageous when utilized in logical reasoning. Acknowledging the characteristics and required conditions for application, let us head over the last aspect: limits. What are the limits of this art? Even if I master it, how much will it prove constructive in my future life? To be honest, the answers are yet to be revealed. To this date, no fixed perimeter has been ascertained for it neither was a situation discovered where implication of this sapience brought inconvenience. Since it deals with creative acumen, the boundaries are directly proportional to the boundaries of imaginative vision of the observer.

I'll try spell check like errors, it may not be good. First paragraph: - Comma after "Colleague" - You could rearrange the words in the last sentence to say "How magnificent is it to see the art of the invisible..." Second paragraph: - "Unintentionally" is probably not needed, or "Sometimes". I would only choose one of those words. - Comma after "conclusion" Third paragraph: - After origin, add a conjunction to tie those thoughts together Fourth paragraph: - I don't see any mistakes personally Fifth paragraph: - I would capitalize Deductions in the first sentence to keep consistency Sixth paragraph: - Same for "Deductions" - Instead of a comma after Godly skill, I would end the sentence - Add a comma after "For example" and before "Mr. Holmes" Seventh paragraph: - Looks good Eighth paragraph: - Also looks good There are probably other things I didn't see, like contractions or such. But yeah
