Look at the materials you have around you. Select any resource. Identify the type of source (book, magazine, website, etc.) and write a properly formatted MLA works cited entry for that resource.

OpenStudy (daniee_bruhh):

Do you have any material around you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i go about doing this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

blender bottle?

OpenStudy (daniee_bruhh):

lol what's a blender bottle and well first you need an object to write about and I'm guessing all you have to do is write what it is and what it does?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is for on the go protein shakes. you put your supplement in and then you put water and blend it! it has a metal ball inside that helps shake the ingredients. just so you know.

OpenStudy (daniee_bruhh):

Ohhh okay that sounds cool. Well I think all you have to do is write a paper on how it works.. (That's what I think that little paragraph means) and maybe site people saying something about it or something like that. Sorry lol I've never had to do this before in school.

okMLA style specifies guidelines for formatting manuscripts and using the English language in writing. MLA style also provides writers with a system for referencing their sources through parenthetical citation in their essays and Works Cited pages. Writers who properly use MLA also build their credibility by demonstrating accountability to their source material. Most importantly, the use of MLA style can protect writers from accusations of plagiarism, which is the purposeful or accidental uncredited use of source material by other writers. If you are asked to use MLA format, be sure to consult the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (7th edition). Publishing scholars and graduate students should also consult the MLA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing (3rd edition). The MLA Handbook is available in most writing centers and reference libraries; it is also widely available in bookstores, libraries, and at the MLA web site. See the Additional Resources section of this handout for a list of helpful books and sites about using MLA style.
