OpenStudy (neycuurose1):

Which of the lines graphed in the diagram represents the equation x + 3y = 3? A. line a B. line b C. line c D. line d https://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1312500_1313000/1312637/2/7a5ddeb604f01836816af3115d4d1d2ece07aa78/HS_AL1G2_S1_07_07_ART1.jpg is it line A?

alones (alones):

https://www.desmos.com/ tyr it here

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

\[x+3y=3\] is the same as\[x=(-1/3)x+1\]

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

y=mx +b and m = slope and b=y intercept. so your y intercept is 1. and your slope is -1/3

OpenStudy (neycuurose1):

Well I just wanted to know if it was line A?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

how did you get line a though? did you guess?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

or did you do the math?

OpenStudy (neycuurose1):

I did the math of course, I was wondering if it was line A

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yes it is. but if you did the math you would have no doubt. the y intercept being 1 you then go by slope; which is -1/3 so go down 1 and to the right 3. (which is line A)

OpenStudy (neycuurose1):

I second guess myself. I doubted that it was the answer, and I wanted to be sure.

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

dont doubt yourself :) yes that is the answer.

OpenStudy (neycuurose1):

Thank you c: have a medal.
