Daniel bought 2 pounds of mixed nuts for $7.18. which ratio is proportional to 2 pounds at $7.18?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please someone help me on it.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

what ratio would 2lbs and $7.18 give you anyway?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well, what is a ratio to begin with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a number compared to another number i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have kik and how old are you.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... yes.. say if you had $2 in allowance, and you sister has $6 in allowance then the ratio or comparison value, will be 2 to 6, or 2:6 meaning, that for every 2, she gets 6 so if you had 4, she gets 12 and if you have 10 she gets 30 so 2:6 or \(\bf \cfrac{\cancel{2}}{\cancel{6}}\iff \cfrac{1}{3}\)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

do I have kik? dunno what that is how old, hehehe, older than dust, not quite, but close =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea ok but i need help on my math promblem please and what age im 19

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello you gonna answer

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so... 2lbs to $7.18 is 2:7.18 ratio or \(\bf \cfrac{2}{7.18}\) any fraction, you can reduce to \(\bf \cfrac{2}{7.18}\) is a proportional fraction to that that is, is exactly the same proportion or an equitable ratio and you can change \(\bf \cfrac{2}{7.18}\) to some other fraction, while keeping the ratio, by simply multiplyng numerator and denominator for the same value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks what your name by the way

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

my name is jdoe =) ehhehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh cool

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

'The name of the song is called "Haddocks' Eyes".' `Oh, that's the name of the song, is it?' Alice said, trying to feel interested. `No, you don't understand,' the Knight said, looking a little vexed. `That's what the name is called. The name really is "The Aged Aged Man".' `Then I ought to have said "That's what the song is called"?' Alice corrected herself. `No, you oughtn't: that's quite another thing! The song is called "Ways and Means": but that's only what it's called, you know!' `Well, what is the song, then?' said Alice, who was by this time completely bewildered. `I was coming to that,' the Knight said. `The song really is "A-sitting On a Gate": and the tune's my own invention.' ~~ Lewis Carroll "Through the Looking Glass" ~~
