Sharing and the Divider Chooser Method: Grandma Flo's will stipulates that her three grandsons, Moe, Joe, and Bo, are to divide the following three items in her estate: a car, a grand piano, and a jet ski. Joe thinks the car is worth 40% of the value of the whole estate, and the jet ski is worth 30%. The remaining values are in the table. (See picture attached in the comments) Q: Which of the items are fair to Joe?

grandma flo

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

ok so this is how i see it, they will each get an item and it is the most fair when however much they think it is, is like high enough for example, if moe got the car it would be fair to him since he thinks it is worth the most and the others don't think as much, that would leave the jet ski and piano, bo thinks the jet ski is worth 40 and the others think less, so it would be fair for him to get it, now Joe is left with the piano but it isn't that bad since most of them believe the perecentage is pretty equal so it would be pretty fair for joe to get the piano

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

thats just my thought, and that would have answered b,c, and d

OpenStudy (leahc246):

Oh okay! That actually makes a lot of sense; I think that's how we were told to approach it in class! Thank you!

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):
