When did the French take over the Island of Martinique?

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

16th century 17th century 18th century 19th century

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

@aaronq @jhonyy9 @sleepyjess @sweetburger @robtobey @zepdrix

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

And also Fill in the blank with the letter or the combination of letters that would make the following sound "ain" and complete the sentence. J'ai trois chiens et ____ chat

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

you have learned it from history sure do you know what mean this sentence in french ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

and what mean this ,,ain" ?

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

The sentence means "I have 3 dogs and ____ cats"

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

@jhonyy9

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes this is right sure - so than you need to know again what mean this word AIN - yes ?

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

No, I think the question asks to fill in the blank with a word that makes sense in the sentence and rhymes with "ain"

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

It might be "un" That's the closest thing I can think of because it makes sense in the sentence but it doesn't exactly sound like "ain", more like "oon" :/

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

parle toi francais ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you speek french ?

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

I'm taking a French class but I only know little. However I did understand when you said "Parle toi Francais" So yay, good for me :) Are you good at French?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so so

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

what you have wrote above for ,,AIN" so i think that this ,,un" will be right ,sound - i think same with AIN - just try and say it ain - un ,ain -un - how you think it now ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you know the numbers till ten in french ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

un deux trois quatre cinque six ---

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so than i remember it right ???

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so this is just for what you can suppose that will be - will can be right because sound same with AIN - do you get again from these one different like UN ?

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

"un" and "ain" are different but close, and many French speakers now merge them. Maybe your teacher is Canadian and not French.

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

Yayy, I knew it. Thanks :) One more question please?? @Vincent-Lyon.Fr

OpenStudy (kimberly_pr):

How would I say: Nobody in my family plays football in French?

OpenStudy (kdr1308):

Personne dans ma famille joue au football
