Jessica stacks some books in a storage crate that weighs 6 pounds. Each book weighs 1 3/4 pounds.. The total weight of the crate with all the books in it is 11 1/4 pounds. What is an equation that can be used to find n, the number of books in the crate?

Well, n represents the number of books, and n can be multiplied by 1.75 since that's how much each book weighs. We can add 6 to 1.75n because the total also counts the weight of the crate. And lastly it's set equal to 11.75. Like this... \[11.75 = 1.75n + 6\] Do you get it? :)
