OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

What are the properties for a kite? How would you use these to prove that adjacent sides are congruent?

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

@peachbubs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that the whole question ?

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

Yep ;-;

OpenStudy (ace-n-it):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well that's a bit confusing. But it's still solvable ! Let's start by drawing a kite. This isn't the best kite, but bare with me here.

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

XD okay I am baring

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Adjacent sides are sides that come directly off whatever you're referring to. So, a side adjacent to another side comes directly off that other side. Do you follow ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So lets say these two sides are the adjacent sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The pink ones, that is.

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

sorry I was spacing a little, yes i follow

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

@peachbubs ;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry ! Somebody mentioned me in another question.

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

it's okay :( I have a DBA in 2 hours and don't understand the answers yet im pretty screwed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, properties of a kite are that it has - 2 sets of parallel lines - 2 sets of congruent angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anything else you can think of ?

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

4 sets of adjacents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay ! I think that's it. So, to prove the adjacent lines are congruent we must look at the fact that on either side of adjacents (top/bottom, left/right), the angles are congruent.

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

okay

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

one second brb I need to feed the fire

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay ! LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, hopefully these clears up some confusion on my previous statement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, the proof that the adjacent sides are congruent is that the opposite angle on adjacent sides is always congruent ! (I hope)

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

@peachbubs okay back

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

http://prnt.sc/aca14f

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

I was also given this earlier if it means anything?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The link won't work for some reason

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

weird

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

I'm still not understanding how you found our that the adjacent sides are congruent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure how else to explain it, sorry.

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

It's okay

OpenStudy (mynameisnemo):

thank you
