In what way do the following lines from T.S. Eliot’s “Journey of the Magi” reflect modernism? We returned to our places, these Kingdoms, But no longer at ease here, in the old dispensation, With an alien people clutching their gods. I should be glad of another death. A. the people who’ve returned have been changed by their experiences and can no longer relate as readily to their past. B. The poet is happy about death. C. The “kingdoms” have changed so much that the returning people no longer recognize them.

I'd say A. From "an alien people clutching their gods" it seems like these people are now distrusting and rely on different things than in the past, they've been changed by experiences
