PRE-CALC HNRS I need help understanding this pre-calc Hnrs example problem. I was understanding it until they got to the .76 and the b1 and b2. How did they get the two degrees from .76? I'll post more below.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's for pre-calc 6.01 Law of Sines.

OpenStudy (mathmusician):

Hey

OpenStudy (mathmusician):

Okay so you have to use the equations that they gave you

OpenStudy (mathmusician):

tell me what is given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a = 6, b = 8, and A = 35°

OpenStudy (mathmusician):

Do you know how to use the equations

OpenStudy (mathmusician):

Well if sinB is .76 thenyou could just use the inverse of sin to find b

OpenStudy (mathmusician):

Do you know what this means \[\sin ^{-1}x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I understand they used a/Sin A = b/SinB. Yes, that's the inverse sine right?

OpenStudy (mathmusician):

Yes so after using the inverse of sin we get about 49 degrees 49.464 to be more precise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see! So, wait how did (you) they know to use the inverse function? Like when is it appropriate to use the inverse?

OpenStudy (mtwizzle420):

Can you help me with some geometry pretty please

OpenStudy (mtwizzle420):
