OpenStudy (marsxtc):

Fin d the elasticity of demand when the price is 4 for the demand function px^2=100 How would I find dx/dp ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

hmm they gave u the equation and i'm guessing P= price we need to find dx/dp (take derivative ) when P = 4 \[\rm Px^2=100\] implicit differentation ?/

Nnesha (nnesha):

you got it ?? apply the product rule at the left side \[\rm f\cdot g = f g'+ gf'\] so when you take the derivative of p it would be \[\rm 1 \frac{dp}{dp}\] derivative of p with respect to dpp makes sense ?? :P
