OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

When a vector is multiplied by a scalar the resultant vector's direction is _______________.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unchanged if the scalar is positive. Reversed if the scalar is negative Take the vector v=<1,2> for example. If you multiply it by the scalar 2 you get: 2<1,2>=<2*1,2*2>=<2,4> Plotting this vector and the original vector, you can see that the line that the vectors follow hasn't changed. Only the distance it travels |dw:1457411559258:dw|

OpenStudy (priyar):

the direct will be same / negative of the original vector depending on whether the scalar is +ve or -ve respectively..
