Hayhayz (hayhayz):

when logarithmic functions are graphed which transformation will result in a y intercept?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

@mayankdevnani @ParthKohli

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

what do you think ?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

Umm I do not remember mayday

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

draw the graph of logx first ?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

wait the function p(t)+1 ?

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

what is that ?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

http://prntscr.com/ad5deq ok logx

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

Wait i just went back to my lesson it says the only way to make a logarithmic function cross the y-axis and have a y-intercept is to give the function a horizontal shift

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

it says if the parent function is f(x)=log10 x, then a transformation of f(x+2) will result in the function being shifted two units to the left, across the y-axis. only horizontal shifts to the left will make a y-intercept occur. should i just write that?

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

yeah ! you are correct

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

but it asks which transformation.. the transformation is the horizontal shift?

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

correct

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

Okayyy I have 1 more question!

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

sure !
