OpenStudy (deercult):

The Sears Tower in Chicago is 1,450 feet tall. A model of the tower is 24 inches tall. What is the ratio of the height of the model to the height of the actual Sears Tower?

OpenStudy (deercult):

Do I need to find the geometric mean of the two? I know it has something to do with proportions but I'm not entirely sure of where to go from there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1:725, is that an answer?

OpenStudy (deercult):

It is! Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All you do involving it is change 24 inches to 2 feet. Once you've changed that over the ratio ends up being 2/1450 which simplifies to 1:725

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem.

OpenStudy (deercult):

Ah, makes sense. Thanks again. c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anything else I can help with?

OpenStudy (deercult):

Not right now, but if I run into anything, I'll hit you up! c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sounds good! If I'm not online just try hitting me up later.

OpenStudy (deercult):

@Calamitylikespie Are the two triangles similar? How do you know? Hopefully the attachment file works!

OpenStudy (deercult):

Please help, friends, I very much need to get this done,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1450 to 2 or 725 to 1
