OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Is this geometric, arithmetic, neither, or both? 1,024, 64, 4, 0.25 (or ¼) ….. A) Arithmetic B) Geometric C) Neither D) Both

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

@Zelda @mathmale @ShadowLegendX

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Confused, can you define what is the difference between the two?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Geometric sequence is when you multiply the last term by the same number everytime to get the next term. Example: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32. You multiply by 2 each time. Arithmetic sequence has the same difference between terms: E.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. Add two each time.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

I thought it was different. Meh, Still confused on what the answer is ;-;

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Hint divide 2nd term by first term divide third term by second term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MissSmartiez Look at the numbers, having it arithmetic doesn't make much sense does it? Do what @welshfella said. :)

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

yes, but what sequence would that fall under.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Re-read what I wrote.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

I was thinking geometric but,,,

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Thanks. ^_^ Mind helping with more?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

do what i suggested then look at Zelda's post about sequences

OpenStudy (welshfella):

64 / 1024 = ? 0.25/ 4 = ?
