Nico is saving money for his college education. He invests some money at 5% and $1900 less than the amount at 3%. The investments produced a total of $143 interest in 1 yr. How much did he invest at each rate?? can someone help me in a way i would understand?
Choose 2 letters to represent: 1) the amount of $ invested at 5% and 2) the amount invested at 3%.
i need an easy equation
let invest first one is =x and second one =1900-x
ok nw what do i do? @Er.Mohd.AMIR i hope u understood the question
The course you're taking is probably Algebra, and you need to get used to the idea of representing quantities with letters of the alphabet. Note that this is wat @er.Mohd.AMIR has suggested. You have two unknown quantities. Let the first be x. Let the second be either y or x-3900. All right. Which amount is invested at 5%? Which amount is invested at 3%?
since on first one 5% and for scond 3% and interest is 143 so first interest is i=amount*rate*time/100 use this
Again i ask you to CHOOSE VARIABLES to represent the unknown quantities. This is one of the most basic principles of algebra. Let the amount invested at 5% be .... what letter? Let the amount invested at 3% be ... what letter or what expression in terms of x?
i still dont get it
You'll need to ask some questions to clear up your own misunderstanding. If you respoind, "I still don't get it," you are in effect dumping the whole job of teaching and learning into someone else's lap. That's not how one learns best. I repeat my question: Some $ is invested at 5%. Choose any letter of the alphabet to represent that $.
yes i am taking algebra and i been struggling for a long time it sucks
I'm sorry, but if you don't begin contributing to this discussion, there's little I can to to help you. I don't want to or need to know that y ou think "algebra sucks." that is not at all helpful. There are 26 letters of the alphabet. Kindly pick one of them and tell me what it is.
