Fill in each blank with the correct adverbial form of the word in parentheses. This is the _______ clamp-on device we have ever had to use. (loose) I think it's Loosest. Can someone explain why i'm right or wrong. I can't figure out a definite clue.

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

You got it right ☺

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Here's my reasoning: ○ "we have ever had to use" means it is the first time the people have had to use something this loose; ergo, "this is the MOST LOOSE clamp-on device we have ever had to use" ○ As the problem only requires one word for the blank, the term synonymous with "most loose" would be "loosest". That's usually what the suffix "-est/-st" means. • Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (kirumarkrice):

Thank you.

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

No problem. ☺
