Will medal!! Need help with temporal transitions?
This is my exact question. Use temporal transitions to revise the following paragraph. You may need to create additional details or information. Use proper spelling and grammar. Ashley wanted a puppy. He talked to his family for hours. They did not believe he had time to care for the puppy. Ashley created a puppy-care plan. His family finally agreed. I can write it out just fine, I just need someone to explain how to use temporal transitions for me to do this.
The first step is to identify what a temporal transition is. Do you know? Is that what you're confused on?
Yeah, I'm stuck on that part. I could re-write this paragraph just fine, I just don't know how to do it using temporal transitions
Okay. A \(\bf\color{lime}{temporal~transition}\) is a word or group of words used to show a transition (or change) in your writing. These transitions connect the two ideas in a nice, flowing manner which helps to keep your writing clear and logical for the readers. Some examples of temporal transitions are the following: "Also," "in addition," "next," etc. (in regards to adding another idea) "First," "second," "third," "finally," etc. (in regards to listing new topics) "However," "in contrast," "on the other hand," etc (in regards to comparing and contrasting) "Likewise," "similarly," "equally," etc. (in regards to showing similarity) There are so many more examples, but I think you get the idea.
So for example, your second sentence could be revised to something like this: "First, he talked to his family for hours."
Ok, thanks this helps a lot.
