How do I convert this to Cartesian http://prntscr.com/ai9hsf

OpenStudy (welshfella):

i am only confident in converting polar to cartesian . This is a roundabout way of solving this but lets try one of the options r = 4 cos O multiply both sides by r r^2 = 4 r cos O now we use r^2 = x^2 + y^2 and x = r cos O and substitute in the above x^2 + y^2 = 4x x^2 + y^2 - 4x = 0

OpenStudy (welshfella):

so its the first option r = 4 cos O

OpenStudy (welshfella):

OK?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

I felt the same way but was shakey on how to go from Cartesian to polar. Thank you though :)
