any thoughts?
in my opinion answer shud be b.)
Let's give it a shot :D Since, we are mentioning that ONLY in africa there are elephants it means two things: 1. In Africa, I saw elephants 2. In any other place, I didn't saw elephant
if i didn't see an African elephant doesn't imply that i didn't go to africa well i might go to africa and come back without watching the african elephant :)
acording to qostion, if i go to africa , i will watch elephant
As @imqwerty said, if you didn't see the elephants that implies two things: 1. You didn't go to Africa 2. You went to Africa but unfortunately the elephants were having lunch and were not free to have an encounter with you ? ;)
its given- "only in africa, can you see the african elephant" this is not implying that you "will" see the african elephant every time you go there =]
ok if i trust the above 2 statements what will be the correct option
But if I were to go to Africa, I must have seen the elephant :3... Unless if I didn't go...
if you go to africa then it might happen that u see the elephants or it might be that u don't so you can't really comment that u saw them or not so options A and C are not correct as the 2nd statement of both of them cannot be logically interpreted
Original: If you saw an African elephant, you went to Africa contrapositve: if you didn't go to Africa, then you didn't see an african elephant

just for fun :)

So the answer should be BD... AC means: 1. There are African elephants in Africa.. 2. No idea whether there are African elephants in other places... DB means: 1. There are no African elephants at all the places you visited... 2. Africa may be one of those places too... so not the right option AD means: 1. Africa has elephants??? Well, I didn't get to see one... So how can I be sure? Thus, BD is correct
but if i didnt see the elephant then i must hav not visited africa so option b.) should be correct
Just gonna post this here and run away. https://i.gyazo.com/a6a6405a14bb5b44712095213329fa5d.png
yes
Wait a minute let me give it a try
@mathmath333 think of it in this way... Suppose you love a type of burger of one particular shop... Let's say McD's burger... now you went to McD to purchase the burger but sadly they were out of stock.. does that mean McD doesn't produce those burgers?
no
I think you are correct. @mathmath333
Exactly! So even if you didn't get to see an Elephant in Africa doesn't mean that there are no elephants in Africa... it only means that at that particular moment there were none (at least for you)
ok i will go with d.) :) as p->q ~q->~p
Claps for @vishweshshrimali5
yes it's choice D `you didn't go to Africa` implies `you didn't see an African elephant` pictures or videos of elephants don't count and @vishweshshrimali5 has a good way to state it. You could have gone to a place where there were no elephants
Thanks thanks :)
sorry I meant to say "You could have gone to a place in Africa where there were no elephants"
@Seratul where u got that link lol
