zarkam21 (zarkam21):

A florist must put together a floral arrangement that contains 3 roses for every 4 tulips. Which of the following combinations meets her needs? A. 15 roses and 16 tulips B. 6 roses and 12 tulips C. 9 roses and 12 tulips D. 9 roses and 15 tulips

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

You can set up a ratio here

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

3 roses --------- 4 tulips Now think what would you multiply by to get 15 roses to go from the ratio to option A?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

4/5

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

Think of just the roses for now if you have 3 roses in the beginning what do you multiply by to get 15 so like this...3x=15 so almost like how many groups of roses would need need if you have 3 roses in each group to be 15 all together

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

5

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

Good now if you do that to the top you need to do that to the bottom so if you have 4 tuplips and 5 groups of them how many will you have all together?

OpenStudy (knov):

yeah, he is right, in simple words |dw:1458750359985:dw|
