forming differential equation

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

in mathese you are saying...... \(\dot N = \color{red}{-} \color{blue}{k} N\) the standard/ basic decay equation... does that make sense ?

OpenStudy (lynfran):

ok

OpenStudy (lynfran):

should it be dN/dt= - k/N

OpenStudy (lynfran):

@IrishBoy123

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

ah! i reached for the standard decay equation.....but you are right now that i read the wording..."inversely proportional to the number of atoms present at any time"..... i just wonder if the question is worded correctly cos it doesn't make much sense to me :p

OpenStudy (lynfran):

ok yes that's the whole question.

OpenStudy (lynfran):

thank you
