I don't know how to start on this without knowing the coordinates of the points on the scatter plot. I see dashed gray segments on the plot. Do you have instructions for how to write the equations of the trend lines? I'm thinking this technique may be connected to the work of John Tukey and his Exploratory Data Analysis.

@phagey: I attempted to help you with this problem earlier, and undrstood that you got the modified Word doc with my drawing of a line through your very first set of data points. What has happened since then? Are you able to approximate the y-coordinate of the point where the blue line crosses the vertical axis? That'd be your "y-intercept." Are you able to choose any two points on the line and to substitute their values into the slope formula? If y ou can do these two things, then you can come up with an approximate equation of the blue line through your data points.
