Will medal! What do scientists call the global wind patterns that are closest to the equator? A. Easterlies B. Tradewinds C. Westerlies D. Crosswinds

OpenStudy (gottennis121):

What do you think? Crosswinds can be located anywhere. It has not specific direction, so not East or West. Tradewinds is a wind blowing steadily toward the equator from the northeast in the northern hemisphere or the southeast in the southern hemisphere, especially at sea.

This may help you. :) The Easterlies are the dry, cold winds that blow from the high pressure area like the north and the south. A Tradewinds are patterns of winds that are found in the tropics in the lower section, near the Earth equator. Westerlies are winds from the west towards the east in the middle latitude between 30 to 60 degree. A crosswind, is any wind that are perpendicular component to the line of the direction it travels.
