How would "In a Station of the Metro" change if the bough was bright and lively rather than wet and black? The station would seem cheerier. The poem would not be considered imagist. The people would seem less pleasant. The poem would no longer be a hokku.

iven the fact that this poem isn't really a hokku/haiku, but only inspired by it, I would say that the correct answer would be B. It is the 19th century - how cheerful can a metro station be? How pleasant are the people? My argument for this option is that imagism is about extracting an image or a picture and reaching and describing its essence. The reality is that everything is dark and gloomy, and if that aspect of the poem is changed, that it won't be considered to be an imagist poem.
