OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

(8.9x10^0)+(5.9x10^0)

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

I've put 14.8 and 14.8x10^0 but it says it's wrong

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

I think you did an arithmetic error. Try adding 8.9 and 5.9 again.

OpenStudy (maddy1251):

Remember the rule when you put a number 'n' to the power of "0" . Let's try 1, for example. When 1 is raised to the power of "0", it automatically yields "1". Same goes for 10 in this instance. So that "10^0" becomes 1. Try solving now.

OpenStudy (maddy1251):

(8.9x10^0)+(5.9x10^0) Then become .... (8.9 x 1) + (5.9 x 1) =?

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

it still says 14.8 @Maddy1251 o.o

OpenStudy (maddy1251):

Well.. 8.9 + 5.9 = 14.8 . That's your answer.

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

I put that and it says it is wrong

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

Perhaps try 1.48x10^1

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

@Bobo-i-bo yes! thank you :)

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

It's because 1.48x10^1 is the standard form :)

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

yes i remember! thankk youu :) @Bobo-i-bo
