Transform the following polar equation into an equation in rectangular coordinates: r=2

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

In general, to convert from polar equation to rectangular coordinates, you only need to substitute \[r=\sqrt{x ^{2}+y ^{2}}\] and \[\theta=\tan^{-1} (y/x)\]

So how would I do that with just r? Would the answer be x^2+y^2=4?

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

:)

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

Yes ^_^

Okay yea! Thank you!
