help w/ perimeters and areas of similar figures? will medal
I can help, depending on the question.
@BadWolfBlue
i am given a picture of 2 similar trapezoids, one is bigger than the other, with bottom lengths of 12 and 18. the area of the bigger one is 121. I need help finding the area of the smaller one
@JoannThomas
@JoannThomas can you help?
Yeah one sec.
Okay, thank you
Since they are similar figures, the areas will also be proportional. They will have the same ratio as the ratio of the sides of one figure to another.
so 12:18= X:121?
Yes I'm pretty sure.
Does the actual shape matter or is it just ratios?
This will work for any similar figures. Similar figures mean they have the same angles and the same ratio of sides, hence their areas would be proportional.
Okay, thanks so much. I think i get it know :)
now
no problem :)
Sorry I thought I could do the problem. :) . I'm just a 6th grader.
It's no problem, thanks for offering :)
