medal and fan!

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

what do you need help with?

OpenStudy (vsvampires309):

What's the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The coordinate plane below represents a city. Points A through F are schools in the city.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part A: Using the graph above, create a system of inequalities that only contain points B and C in the overlapping shaded regions. Explain how the lines will be graphed and shaded on the coordinate grid above. (5 points) Part B: Explain how to verify that the points B and C are solutions to the system of inequalities created in Part A. (3 points) Part C: Lisa can only attend a school in her designated zone. Lisa's zone is defined by y > 2x + 5. Explain how you can identify the schools that Lisa is allowed to attend. (2 points)

@Keigh2015

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

okay first before we start open study code of conduct states we can only help with homework questions, not with scored quizez but since I'm here already I will give you a pass

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

np okay lets start with part A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

okay first we have to create a system of inequalities that only contain points B and C in the overlapping shaded regions. So what are points B and C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c= 3,-3 b= 3,1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right?

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

you r correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that i for part a?

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

okay now what do you do when making an inqueality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure.

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

okay well let me show you an example

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

First off Inequality tells us about the relative size of two values.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

Example: Alex and Billy have a race, and Billy wins! What do we know? We don't know how fast they ran, but we do know that Billy was faster than Alex: Billy was faster than Alex We can write that down like this: b > a (Where "b" means how fast Billy was, ">" means "greater than", and "a" means how fast Alex was)

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

http://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/inequality.html

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

my niece likes uses that website

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

I hope that helps

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

So which is greater B or C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

Then use the signs > or < to make it an inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b>c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you there?

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

sorry i gtg afk

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

@pooja195

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

@MrCoolGuy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Qwertty123

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

bye

OpenStudy (xhawaiiangirlx):

Sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for trying
