Why can't Ca2+ particles diffuse through a lipid bilayer easily?

because \(\sf Ca^{2+}\) has to cross a non-polar layer first and \(\sf Ca^{2+}\) is a charged particle like dissolves like so it goes the same with charged particles only being able to cross polar layers.
