couple days back i had to transfer my friend's phone messages from a `windows phone` to an `android phone` and realized that windows stores the date of a message by counting the number of seconds elapsed from `Jan1 1601`. Whereas android phones store the dates by counting the seconds elapsed from `Jan1 1970`. Had to subtract the seconds between 1601 and 1970 to get proper dates in android phone... Fascinating how simple things get complicated when we get into details !

absolutely.
I worked in computer programming at one time and dealing with dates and time could get very complicated.
