please help

OpenStudy (helpkay):

how do you graph y=mx+b

OpenStudy (helpkay):

first you plot the y intersection right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find y when x = 0, then find x when y =0. That will be give you 2 points to draw the line.

OpenStudy (chunkymonkay):

To graph the equation of a line written in slope-intercept (y=mx+b) form, start by plotting the y-intercept, which is the b value. The y-intercept is where the line will cross the y-axis, so count up or down on the y-axis the number of units indicated by the b value. https://www.brightstorm.com/math/algebra/linear-equations-and-their-graphs/how-to-graph-a-line-using-y-equals-mx-plus-b-problem-1/

OpenStudy (helpkay):

right so if your b was 3 your line would cross at 3 and they would be your y intercept and you would plot that

@simplymarie_x

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

Everything @chunkymonkay said is correct.

OpenStudy (helpkay):

i know that so after that you find the slope and go up and over to find you next point then you dived them to find x and then it's solved

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

Yes. And you should do that at least 3 times to form a line. I was told 2-3 points is good enough.
