OpenStudy (freckles):

can you find the big and small area?

OpenStudy (freckles):

hint all you need is to know the formula for the area of circle and the radius

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

A = 16 <--- incorrect. A = 16/3 π A = 4π - 8 A = 27π A = 9π - 9/2 √3

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Oh.. Thank you for the hint ^-^. I'll try it first then.

OpenStudy (freckles):

you can tell me what you get for the big circle's area if you want

OpenStudy (freckles):

and then tell me what you get for the small circle's area

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Well I got decimals for their areas, since there are none, I'm guessing they would end up looking like this: Larger circle: 36π Smaller circle: 9π If I were to subtract them I would bet 27 or 27π. Right?

OpenStudy (freckles):

brilliant

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

:D thank you for the help.

OpenStudy (freckles):

27pi

OpenStudy (freckles):

since they both have pi in it

OpenStudy (freckles):

it is like subtracting 9 apples from 36 apples you don't have 27 you have 27 apples :)

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

mhm ^_^

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Do you think you can help me with another one?
