Hi yall ill give you a medal if someone can tell me the formula to solve this equation. it is to find the distance between to end points.

What are you trying to figure out about the graph?
the distance beteween 2 endpoints
So this answer will be found by using the Pythagorean Theorem. The line connecting the points on the graph will be the hypotenuse, but we'll call it c. We know that we need to find the length of c. \[c^{2}=a ^{2}+b ^{2}\]
i am pretty sure that is not how you do it
Hold on.
To find a and b of this equation, you will measure the distance horizontally and vertically between the two points.
So the point that would complete the triangle is (2, -2). |dw:1460057328998:dw|
We now need to know the lengths of these sides. |dw:1460057516505:dw|
this is not how you do it i know this for a fact
Listen. \[a ^{2}+b ^{2}=c ^{2}\] so \[36+25=c ^{2}\] So C is 7.81 or so.
Is that not correct?
no not even close . im sorry
You said distance between the two points...
right?
yeah but it has nothing to do with triangles
I know it doesn't, but the Pythagorean Theorem is part of the distance formula... I'm in advanced Euclidean Geometry... I've finished Algebra 1 and 2 and all that, and that's what I've done for quite a while. Perhaps a number was off, but the reasoning is sound.
but my ansewr came out in unist
I apologize for whatever error I made, but that is the basic method. I'm sorry to have wasted your time.
no your fine
