HELP PLEASE I WILL MEDAL!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Scenario: Your little brother has a set of toy cars and motorcycles. He has a total of 12 toy vehicles. 3) If x equals the number of toy cars and y equals the number of motorcycles, what equation can we write to represent the number of toy vehicles he has? 4) If you add the number of wheels, there are 32 altogether. What equation can we represent the number of wheels? Find the x and y intercepts of each equation: 5) What is the solution? How can you prove it?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

3.) x + y = 12 4.) 4x + 2y = 32 x + y = 12.....x int = 12, y int = 12 4x + 2y = 32...x int = 8, y int = 16

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

x + y = 12....x = 12 - y 4x + 2y = 32 4(12 - y) + 2y = 32 48 - 4y + 2y = 32 - 2y = - 16 y = 8 x + y = 12 x + 8 = 12 x = 4 it can be checked by subbing in ur answers into the original eq's to see if they equal
