Atsie (atsie):

What does it specifically mean when something is the inverse of a relation? For example, here is a relation.... {(0,2), (-5, 4)} And then here is the inverse of that very relation... {(2, 0), (4, -5)} To me, all it looks like is that the numbers got reversed. Is that basically what inverse relations are all about, and if so why?

OpenStudy (animallover8):

Inverse relations... so inverse means inverted or backwards or upside down. \[The - inverse - of \frac{ 3 }{ 7 } is \frac{ 7 }{ 3 }\]

OpenStudy (animallover8):

So the inverse of a relation would appear to be upside down/backwards. In a relation each coordinate set changes. X changes to Y and Y changes to X.

Atsie (atsie):

Makes sense. Thank you so much @AnimalLover8 ^.^
