The ripples that a stone or a raindrop makes in still water are circles. Why do you think they are circles? ( Think about the definition of a circle.)

Multiple choice? or actual Answer?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

- a circle is : A 2-dimensional shape made by drawing a curve that is always the same distance from a center.

OpenStudy (reese.jordan):

it needs the actual response @ninjanick23

OpenStudy (reese.jordan):

I'm still confused @jhonyy9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any point on a circle is equidistant from the center of a circle. |dw:1460336364205:dw| these two distances (the two lines) are equal in length. This occurs because when a stone or raindrop hits water, there produces a wave that spreads out from where the stone/drop hits the water. It spreads out equally assuming the water is calm and still, and thus a circle is made.
