Why do people of both Jewish and Christian faith trace the start of their religions to Isaac? They believe Isaac is God's final prophet. They believe Moses and Jesus are Isaac's descendants. They believe Isaac wrote the Old Testament. They believe Isaac survived in the desert due to help of God. @abbyselena2199 @qwertty123
Judaism Isaac had two sons: Jacob and Esau (Genesis ch.25). Israelites are the descendants of Jacob; and according to tradition, the Patrician class of Rome, which became a stalwart of Christianity after Constantine, had its origin in Esau's descendants. Christianity Christians claim, as Jews do, that Jews are the descendants of the Ancient Israelites. Christians are a little more dubious of the Jewish assertion that the Romans were Edomites (descended of Esau) and depending on the Church in question, they may claim that the Romans were descended of Japeth (whereas the Biblical Patriarchs are descended from Shem). The typical connection to Isaac alleged by most Christians to apply to Christians is not genetic, but that Jesus confers on those Gentiles who accept and believe in him a spiritual link to the Biblical Patriarchs since he was an Israelite descendant. This spiritual link makes the genetic link unnecessary and part of the rejected part of the Old Covenant.
because jesus christ was born a jew so the jews and the christians therefore have the same roots
It began with Abraham actually. Isaac was his son. Because Christ is the Author and Finisher of the Hebrew faith. And guess what - a HEBREW wrote that in the Bible - TO THE HEBREWS Hebrews 12:2 We look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. ~Anonymous https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20150305143546AAnBAvZ

I thought B. But you could be right!
We are talking about roots here. The only option that makes sense as an answer to the question is B. Though the rest are true (except for A as we see with Haggai, Daniel, Jonah etc.) B is what you are lookinjg for. the relationship between Jews and Christians is based on the factors of lineage and the worship of the same God, only that Christians worship the complete Godhead as prophesied, and the Jews reject The Christ as part of the Godhead, instead resorting to Law
