Henry VIII, king of England, was famously married six times and played a critical role in the English Reformation, turning his country into a Protestant nation.
Long Term Effects In 1533, England officially broke away from the Roman Catholic Church. This is the most important impact of this event. This occurence changed the history of England forever. Today, the Church of England is still the church that rules England. First, there wouldn't be an alternate Catholic religion. The reason the Protestant-Catholic religion was created was because the Church of England became the official church of England. When this happened King Henry VIII revised the Catholic religion and made it the way he wanted. Although, he some supporters many people disagreed with his changes. Mainly, citizens disapproved of his idea of making him one step below God. Many revolted against him. Sadly, the ones who did not back down when ordered were executed publicly. The reason it was displayed publicly was to show people what would happen to them if they didn't become a member if the Church of England. This scared most people into joining Henry VIII. https://sites.google.com/a/ltps.info/henry-viii/home/the-impact/long-term-effects
