What literary term is illustrated by the following quotation? "And do you now put on your best attire? And do you now cull out a holiday? And do you now strew flowers in his way..."? I think it might be Parallelism, but I'm not sure. Maybe repetition?

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Nope... not Parallelism..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, cool. That's why I need help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I just can't really figure this out... Maybe your second guess is what I'm thinking...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, glad to know I'm not the only one who can't figure this out. Thanks!

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Think about it, are these types of questions that are looking for the answer ?

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@Caitlyn_Morgan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Conqueror you make no sense. and youre welcome @Caitlyn_Morgan sorry I couldn't be moire help.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Is the person who asked the question looking for the answer to them ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm. Aren't all questions looking for an answer? It's a worksheet for school.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

questions*

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Not all. This question for example... "Don't you have any ears ?" Is the person who asked the question looking for the answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're not answering my question. I'm just going to figure it out myself and close the question.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Answers are not allowed on the site... I'm trying to guide you to the answer.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

According to my dictionary, the accurate definition for the correct literary term would be: asked merely for effect with no answer expected

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whatever. I'm closing the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Conqueror why do you insist on causing trouble to make people mad? Can you just staaaahp??????? Plus you're getting annoying bc you keep popping on my notifications bar. Yes answers are too allowed. Direct answers, no, but helping someone check their answer, yes. I just tried help him/her check their answer now stop it and go away. If you're not going to help him/her, then just stop.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Causing trouble ? All I've done is attempt to guide the user to understanding. At least I'm giving it a shot.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@Caitlyn_Morgan Search the meaning of the word "rhetorical".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand rhetorical questions. I think the question is referring to the repetition of " And do you now.." Not the fact that the individual questions were rhetorical.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

I understand what you thought it was, but some questions are made to trick you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, fair enough. I can see where you were coming from.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Anyways, I've got to run now. Good day.
