Find M<ZX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't see a Z?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry let me fix it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright! So what's the total degree measure of a circle? The line WZ splits the circle in half, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the whole circle is 360 and half is 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ijakez

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup! So because WZ splits the circle in half, all of the angles from W to Z total up to be 180, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so it would be 70

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ijakez

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're getting ahead of yourself, but good line of thinking. From that you determined that ZY=70, but the problem asks for ZX. ZX=ZY+YX You just figured out that ZY=70, and YX is given as 85. ZX=70+85=155

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i get it its not asking just of angle ZY, so i would add ZY and Xy to get my final answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah! It's asking for ZX, and ZX is ZY+XY

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. your great can i ask you another one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this one makes no since

Find the length of the arc shown in orange. leave your answer in terms of pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ijakez

OpenStudy (anonymous):

arclength = radius * angle what's the total angle covered by orange? what's the radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the total angle in orange is 330 degrees and the radius is 72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ijakez

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so how do it put it into pi form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean radians?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to put it into pi form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it degrees or radians? If you have to find the answer in degrees, multiply your final answer by (pi/180)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my opitions are 16.5 pi in 33 pi in 60 pi in 66 pi in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ijakez

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, I told you the wrong idea! the circumfrance (distance around the circle) = pi*2*r r= 18, so the total circumfrance is 36pi. 330 degrees is 11/12 of the total circle. 11/12 of 36 is 33

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 11/12
